Sony workshops with A900 & dye-sub – UK

Spread the love

AWARD winning event photographer Keith Trainor – winner of the first ever UK Event Photographer of the Year title in the annual British Professional Photography Awards – hits the road with Sony shortly in the UK to bring a profitable, high energy new line of business to established photo studios and new business entrants.

Sponsored by Sony UK, who offer a complete system from DSLR camera and lenses right through to the final rapid on-the-spot printing system, the workshops are organised by The Master Photographers Association. As Britain’s premier organisation for professional ‘people photographers’, MPA has fostered the growth of the events market which includes banquets, parties, graduations, school proms, sports meeting, equestrian, rallies and fairs.

Photographers contracted to these events must be able to deliver hundreds or even thousands of finished prints on the spot, followed up with the rapid creation of web viewing and ordering pages. The best event contracts demand a team of photographers, sales viewing staff and printing/presentation operator but can yield thousands in turnover and profit in just a few hours.

Keith Trainor is one of the most successful businessmen in the field and an expert in setting up and managing efficient on-site workflow and sales.

This workshop is aimed at beginners and photographers interested in getting into the events market but not sure where to start. It provides you with a strong understanding and insight into selling yourself as an events photographer, the market opportunities and the key business aspects to being successful in this market.

Keith makes sure the workshop is very hands-on by:
• Demonstrating ExpressDigital software which automates the process
• Using Sony Dye-Sublimation printers such as the UP-DR200 to show how fast and easy it is to print in high quality
• Teaching practical photographic techniques, creating a perception of higher quality and value for each image
• Giving guidance on how to handle customers and poses for couples and groups
• Demonstrating how to use ‘green-screen’ and ExpressDigital software to place studio subjects in to realistic background scenes
• Explaining techniques for high-key shots with pure drop-out white backgrounds
